4D for iOS: Sort the Contents of a List Form

Several predefined actions that help your app users manage their content were already available in the Action section: “Add,” “Edit,” “Delete,” and “Share”. 4D v19 R2 introduces a new one, and you’re going to like it! You can now create Sort actions to sort local app data.

Create a sort action

From the Action section in the project editor, just click on the plus button and select Sort action for…, select the table, and finally the field you want to perform your sort on.

This will create a new action in the top panel. As with any other action, you can define an icon, short and long labels, and a table.

The best part is that you can add as many fields as you want to sort your data.

You can then define the sort order, ascending or descending, for each field added in the bottom panel.
