To stay competitive in the software industry, one should always seek innovation and build momentum for change.
In that spirit, 4D has always given you the right technology to grow and expand. Project mode is one example that comes with a tremendous benefit: the ability to use Git to get your 4D application up and running in a more productive development environment.
So we decided to create a 4D Awesome list, where we gather all the collective wisdom in one place to make 4D developers’ life a little easier.
If you’re a Git/GitHub user and have a fantastic project that you believe could help fellow developers, you might want to contribute to the 4D Awesome list, where awesome projects live!
This blog post explains the concept of an Awesome list and how you can contribute.
What is awesome?
According to the Awesome Manifesto, “Only awesome is awesome.” ?
An Awesome list is a collection of links on a specific topic, gathered in a single Markdown document hosted on Github. People can contribute to the list by sending “Pull requests” that get merged into the list once evaluated by the list creator —the 4D team in this case.
By looking at some of our 4D developers’ repositories on Github, we could tell the awesomeness of their projects; that’s why we are inviting you to be part of the 4D list.
How can you contribute?
Submitting a pull request is straightforward:
- You’ll need a GitHub account!
- Access the 4D Awesome list’s GitHub page: https://github.com/4d-depot/awesome-4d
- Click on the readme.md file:
- Then click on the Edit icon:
- You can start editing the text of the file in the in-browser editor. Make sure you follow the guidelines.
- Say why you’re proposing the changes, and then click on “Propose changes”:
- Submit the pull request!
What’s Next?
Our team has already pushed some of the projects that may interest you; it’s your turn to give back to the community and submit your pull request.
Looking forward to merging your awesome ideas ?
