Data formatters with 4D for iOS

As promised, with every R-release we’ll be providing you with more 4D for iOS features. 4D v17 R3 includes a new concept allowing you to define specific data types for your fields so the content is displayed with the correct format: Data formatting!

Data formatters enable you to quickly override your fields’ default format to display the format of your choice. The formats can be selected from a predefined list in Sections > Labels & Icons.

In the 4D for iOS documentation, you’ll find the entire list of the newly added types, as well as tutorials to learn more about them. In the screenshot below, you can see the final result with four types (currencies, booleans, percentage, dates) displayed correctly.

• 4D for iOS Product Owner •David Azancot joined the 4D Product team as a Product Owner in 2017. He's in charge of writing the user stories and translating them into functional specifications. His role also includes making sure that feature implementations meet customers' needs.David graduated with an MBA in Marketing, Internet and Mobility from the Leonard De Vinci Institute and began his career in 2011 with a mobile start-up company, later acquired by Madvertise (a mobile marketing group). Passionate about mobile interfaces, he was the natural choice to develop interactive mobile ad formats for the group in 2015. In parallel, David has been developing his own iOS and Android applications since 2012.
