Easily create cross-tables reports with the Quick Report editor
A new step has been reached in 4D v16 R2 with the 64-bit Quick Report editor: the cross-table reports are now available!
As you probably already noticed, the new Quick report for 64-bit versions had been fully redesigned since v15 R3 to provide you and your end-user with a better user experience. After list reports which were available as the very first step, we are now moving forward and delivering cross-table reports.
Protection of 4D Write Pro dynamic expression evaluation
With 4D v16, 4D Write Pro is now providing a higher level of protection regarding the evaluation of 4D expressions in documents.
Developers can now fully rely on 4D for checking the evaluation of these expressions. By doing so, end-user machines and databases will be automatically protected from any possible side effects.
A valid 4D expression can be a field, a variable, a 4D command, a statement returning a value, a project method, and so on.
Starting with 4D v16, “unsafe” 4D expressions will no longer be evaluated and an error will be displayed instead.
New “error formula” system variable
A new system variable is available to get the offending 4D code that generates an error. With 4D v15 R4 whenever an error is raised you have a means to get the offending code in addition to getting the error code, as well as the method and line where the error occurred.
