4D for Android is Here!

We are thrilled to announce 4D for Android preview, our no-code development platform for Android devices!

Here is what you need to know:

4D v19 beta now allows you to build native Android applications!

Now, you can not only build natively for Android, but you can also build native applications for both iOS and Android from the exact same mobile project.

For those of you who already use 4D for iOS, just open your existing mobile project and directly click Build to get the Android version of your app.

WHAT’s in it?

Most of the features that are available for iOS are also available for Android, ensuring a smooth experience:

  • Native app generation
  • Plenty of templates available
  • Multi-criteria search
  • Formatters
  • Authentication
  • Offline support

HOW DOES IT WORK?

To make it simple, to create your iOS and/or your Android app, all you need to do is create a mobile project from 4D and export it for the platform you want to get. So feel free to click on the Toolbar’s New button > Mobile Project and build your first Android project. What’s best? You can now build Android apps from Windows!

WHAT TO EXPECT?

This is the very first (Beta) version of 4D for Android. In contrast to other features of 4D v19, 4D for Android is still in development and made available for testing purposes only. It should not be used in production yet, as it is not 100% complete and bug-free. That being said, we need your feedback now more than ever! We expect 4D for Android to be production-ready with 4D v19 R2.

More features are coming to get 4D for Android on the same maturity level as the iOS part, so stay tuned! There is no longer any excuse to miss this opportunity to move faster to mobile with No-Code!
