		<description>Safari for Windows is an opportunity to drive iPhone and Mac sales, just as iTunes drives iPod and Mac sales.

Apple would not use Firefox because Apple likes to use what it can develop on its own and control on its own even if it uses open source software.  Thus Safari.</description>

That is true, but if they were looking at that angle they could have simply pushed the Firefox browser. Right now FF has 15% of the browser share and growing.

Anyway I think it is a good thing to see browser competition as it will help spur innovation in a market that was lying dormant for a few years.</description>
