Karl,

Sorry it took me a long time to reply. I love Basecamp's simplicity.

Brendan,
I can't quite tell if you impressed with Basecamp (written in Ruby on Rails BTW), using it as an example of success with simplicity, or think it has feature deficit.

I am also a Basecamp user, and I can tell you that it has changed the way I look at data and more importantly how I present it to users. I am guilty of following the long held view(layout)-presents-table method of showing data to users in a related manner. That's one thing Basecamp does not always follow. And after you use it a while, it just makes sense. They present the data in a way that is helpful to users, not necessarily relationally logical. IMO, that is the heart of Web 2.0.

Bout time you guys had a blog ;) I'm adding it to my feeds. Thanks.

Greg,

Please check out what we are doing with 4D Web 2.0 Pack, . Many of our customers are building modules with the Web 2.0 Pack to allow remote access via the Ajax technologies we have included with 4D Web 2.0 Pack.

When will 4D go "Universal" on the Mac? It's getting to be a long time since Apple introduced the first Intel-Mac, hence, it sure would be nice reap it benefits...

I would love to find out more about 4d web plans. We have had a very hard time giving remote users access to our 4d database in a funtional way. It has forced us to start looking at other options.
